If you were to suggest summer venues in the Philippines, what 3 get-away trips would you recommend?

Summer is the best season for me... no classes to think of, no assignments to worry about... just pure fun!!! Now, it is still the best, despite the fact that it’s too hot (though am getting used to it now)

As for recommendations, here are my favorite sites:

1. Baguio – this is the best place to be!!! I’ve been in Baguio for the last 10 summers or so of my life. I noticed that even if there are a lot of people during summer, the nights are still the same. Cold and refreshing! I suggest that if ever you wanted to relax in Baguio during summers, go for transient homes or hotels that are located away from the city. Choose places like Gibraltar/Mines View,  Camp 9, Marcos Highway, Ambuklao Rd, and the like. These places are around 15-20 minutes away from the main city but you will definitely enjoy the view. You will really experience the cool breeze of Pine trees.

2. Beaches in Northern Luzon - You can start beach hunting from Pangasinan going to La Union then finally in Ilocos. If you prefer white beaches, you can go to Pagudpod. This is another commercialized beach but compared with Puerto Galera and Boracay, it still has lesser crowd.

3. Somewhere down in Mindanao, is Davao. I've been to Samal Island and I find their beach relaxing too. This is also a good spot for tourists because of their gardens and other sceneries. You can have an overnight stay near the beach and spend the day touring the city. Have a map with you, especially if you are not with a tour.

So far, these are my recommendations because these are the only summer get-aways that I've been to! Thanks Jan for this week's Coffee Version... sorry I'm late as usual
