I have been wanting to go to the US. Not because I wanted to live there or to work there... but because I wanted to visit my college buddy, Christine. The last time I saw her was 10 years ago. We last saw each other March of 1998. After that, we just communicated through snail mails and some emails (she isn't fond of chatting online). She used to call during the earlier days but not anymore. She has been busy with her work in Seattle.

Last year, January she went home to Baguio with her parents but I wasn't able to meet her. When they were already in Manila, she was still too busy to meet me up... The last time we exchanged emails, she was asking if I (we, because she wants to meet G too) could visit her sometime soon (because I manage my own time ) She bribed me that if ever, she'd let us stay in one of the best Seattle hotels. She'd also take a vacation leave just to bring us around. She wanted to show me (in particular) her office and the high-tech laboratories where she currently works. In addition to that, she also promised that we will also watch G's favorite basketball team and stay in one of the Portland hotels that I've read about.

I wish it is that easy to get a tourist visa from the US Embassy. From the stories that I've heard, it might take us sometime before we can set foot at Lakspur Landing Hotels. The consuls are quite strict with the requirements when applying for a visa. I still have to compile those before I even set an appointment with the embassy. For now, this dream vacation will still be a dream for me.
