toxic weekend for me
As i have written on my previous post, Saturday was already set for an important activity. We slept late on Friday night because G created a lay-out for an invitation while I try catching fish online. We slept past 1 in the morning already. This means I needed the help of an alarm clock to make sure that I wake up on time. I set the alarm to 3:45am so that I still have time to extend a little bit. I woke up even before the alarm sounded so I went back to sleep. The next time I opened my eyes, it was already 4:30am. I immediately dashed out and took a bath. G, on the other hand, was busy boiling water for our coffee. We finally got out of the house by 5:45am.
We didn't eat breakfast anymore, good thing and with right timing, it was the first day of Jolibee Pacita's 24 hour operation. This coincides with their 8th anniversary (or was it 10th?). We just bought burgers and fries since they are still preparing their breakfast meals. I brought my coffee with me so G ordered for a juice na lang.
As we got out from Jolibee, there was already a bus moving out of the garage. We rode it and hoped that the ride won't take too long. We took Cher bus until SM North, then took another bus going to Malanday. We were at Malanday at around 7:30 and took the jeep going to Obando. Along the way, we were stuck in the traffic because there was a dump truck being repaired along the road. We got to the church late already.
G was overwhelmed with what he saw. He kept on telling me that during that time, he was so relieved because he can see that we are not alone. There are a number of people, who just like us, are still waiting for their babies to come. We saw different types of couples, some are young, some are in their midlife and there are also those who are already old. We saw families dancing together, group of friends and couples. What we found out was that you won't feel shy to dance when you are already with the group. It was fun and really enlightening. The bands played lively songs like Santa Clara theme song. One band even played Beautiful Girl by Sean Kingston.
The procession started at 9:00 and ended at around 11:00. Along the way, there are some residents who gave out water, juices and other types of drinks. There was even one house that decorated and created an arch with different fruits hanging on it. When the procession was on its way back to the church already, the owners tried to gave the fruits to the attendees. The procession went back to the church and said some prayers for the people who attended the festival. The priests lifted up the wishes and prayers of those who joined the procession. There were also several testimonials coming from couples who had their children after dancing in the streets of Obando and attending the festival.
As a whole, I would say that this is a fun activity. It is a time when we felt our spirit uplifted. This is the time when we feel God's love. That in His time, we will soon receive our blessing, our baby.
We had lunch before we finally went home. There were Jolibee and Greenwich rolling stores in the area. We also bought some suman before riding the jeep going to Monumento.
*-*
Instead of going home because we were already too tired, we headed to Divisoria. Since we are already near the place, we thought of dropping by. I bought several notebooks and other school supplies that I will send to my cousins (2 lang naman) in the province. This year, I am sponsoring their school needs.
