baby update

It's been a while since I last posted an update on baby gwenks on this blog. My weekly updates on him is posted on his blog (I'll just use male pronoun for now so that I won't have to type him/her or he/she to minimize space).

I am now on my 18 week, which is about 4 months and a have. So far, I am still waiting to feel for the fetal movements. I've read from 'What to Expect' that there is a tendency that I am already feeling it but I cannot associate it yet (this is for first time moms) since I still don't know that IT is IT already. I am  continually praying that baby Gwenks is fine and healthy inside my tummy.

Speaking of which, I am growing more and more each day. I feel more conscious now after talking with my preggy HS friend that she is only about 114 lbs at present despite the fact that she is already on her 6th month. To think that we are just about the same size during our pre-pregnancy days. Whereas, I am already 120 lbs and I am still on my 4th month. I think I will really have to resort to diet pills several months after I give birth. I hope to find one that will not cause any side effects on my breastfeeding.

According to babycenter.com, baby G looks like this for this week:

How your baby's growing:

Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
