full-time housewife

I am married for more than 5 years now but it is only this month that I became a full-time housewife to my husband. Initially, after our wedding we lived separately. It was only on February 2007 that we decided that I join him here in Laguna. Despite being together, I cannot really say that I was a housewife then because we lived with my MIL. She was practically the housewife since she's the Queen of the House. I never had a say on issues because we were living with her.

Now that we have our own place and I am already considered the Queen of the House, I can say that I am indeed a Full-time Housewife. I practically manage the whole house. I start my day early to prepare breakfast and G's baon for the day. I do the planning for the week's menu, I am in-charge with the budget and I am also the executer. Whenever I make decisions now, I just rely on what we want. I no longer have to consider other people who will be affected. As I always say, 'this is my house, ako ang pakikisamahan at hindi na ako ang makikisama' . Fair enough, no one messes with the things I like. I can now choose to cook viands that I have been longing to eat. I can eat 'dinengdeng' everyday without thinking that other people in the household might not like it. I can buy brands that I prefer because I won't consider anyone's opinion. I can also allow 'pets' that could and would enter the house without worrying about their hairs...

So far, the most difficult part for me is budgeting why? because we have very limited amount to budget. It's more on prioritizing which ones to have. It's more of the needs than wants... but still some exceptions on the way. I am learning each day, besides I'm just starting with this new career. I know that I can further improve my skills on it.

Hay, I am really enjoying being a housewife. There are times when I don't know what to do but it is better since I can try to make my own strategy on things. I can learn from scratch without anyone dictating.
