birthday surprise

My MIL is celebrating her birthday on Sunday and she is in for surprise I don't know the details yet but it will be really FUN for the family.

For starter, we will celebrate it at Tagaytay. It will be an overnight stay and they rented a place already. I am so happy of this because it will be the kids' first time to sleep in a cool weather place. Our Baguio trip didn't push through so this is a better alternative.

Then we will have a family photoshoot. With the Taal Lake as a background, it will really be great. I still have to prepare for our 'semi-formal' clothes. I haven't ironed anything yet. In fact, I haven't washed our clothes for this week yet.

On Sunday, we will have a tour around the city. I wish we could drop by one of their zoos. The kids will surely enjoy looking at the animals 'in real'. I hope they could ride a horse too (something I promised, if we did push through with Baguio), even if they have no riding boots kids edition yet.

All in all, I just wish that mama enjoys her day more than we would.

touching moment

The Cebuana Pera Padala never fails to make me smile. It is so touching that the first time I saw it, I was teary-eyed. I loved how the production made the 'money' really worthy to its recipient. Additional factor is Coco Martin the attention was first diverted to him but when the sender comes out, then that's the time that it makes the commercial close to the heart.

It is not easy being away from home. But for growing families, it is the best sacrifice that anyone can do to have a better future. There are instances when we are thinking of letting G go abroad to work. Even if its just for a year or two, then when he comes back we'll just venture into business. Something that has to do with consultation or general merchandise. We can even consider to buy silver coins which is a stable business too.

Anyways, going back to the commercial, I hope the recipients use the money sent to them in a nice way. People worked hard to earn it. They might as well take good care of it, as a way of thanking their senders

It has been 4 months since our househelp left us for our neighbor. Since then, it was just me, the kids and tatay. There were times when the children were uncooperative but everything ended well (except for the other day's accident). Since then, we have stabilized our savings and expenses. We are saving more than what we expected. Because of this, we are thinking of another investment that we wanted to venture into. But before getting into IT, I wanted to have something beautiful for the house. I am thinking of something with interior water features that can serve as a design or a lucky charm for the house. This is my year and it will be a lot more better in the coming days.

election fever

Few more days before Election 2013 and I haven't completed my list yet. I am still contemplating on who should get my vote. The kids on the other hand, love this election fever. They enjoy the jingles and they sing along with it. Among their favorites are Jack Enrile and Manny Alipon (a local candidate here in Sta. Rosa). It is striking for them to the point that they even sing it to themselves whenever they 'just think' about them. Aside from this, they also learn about the candidate through their posters and tarpaulin posted all over the place. While the kids are thinking of who the candidates look like, I am thinking how lucky the business owners of the local printing are during this season.

Howell, what is important now is that I get to cast my vote on monday. The kids' future will depend on who I choose to lead the country that we are living now.

learning the hard way

The kids are very 'makulit' lately, especially Achi. Almost everyday I reprimand her for her behavior. Today something happened that she really can't forget. She fell from the sofa and she hit the floor. I had to rush her to the hospital and she had stitches on her nape.

I am guilty of what happened. I was to lax in looking after her. I thought she was already old enough to take care of herself. i forgot that she is still a child who needs proper guidance during play. I really feel sorry for what happened to her.

Because of this, I am thinking if I should get a househelp again. I need someone to look after the bigger girls and at the same time do the chores. Laundry is piling, the house is in mess... hay!

moving out

I started to moved out my entries from my babygwenks blog. I started to manually copy my entries from the blog and it was so overwhelming. I am happy that I made it before and I was able to document my motherhood on my early years. I wish I had more time to document the growth of all my children on that blog. I wish that I wrote more about their development and at the same time shared more pictures of them. They are young only once and I want them to see how they were when they were smaller.

So from now on, I'll make sure that I write an entry about them and their activities once a week. I'll make a schedule and I'll stick with it. I'll also post more pictures of them growing up. I need to do it. I need to bring life to this blog. This is only what I have, I might as well make the best of it

It has been ages since I was a part of a Graduation Rite. I can't remember the feeling anymore.

This year is different. I am going up the stage again, not as a student but as a parent. The feeling is overwhelming (almost the same feeling when I was a bride ) I was having goosebumps while I was walking along the graduation area. I am overjoyed that my little girl finished her first year in school with flying colors. Being the youngest in her class and being so shy when she started school, I was not expecting her to compete well with her classmates. But she did it

Sitting on my chair, waiting for the program to start was like listening to the best flutes there could ever be. It was like having an orchestra playing on the background.

I am just thankful for the experience. I could have cried if my daughter didn't cry ahead of me This is another story to share...

easter sunday

The kids enjoyed the Easter Sunday celebration last year. It was their first time to join such activity. This year, they have been waiting and looking forward to it. Whenever I ask them where they wanted to go to church, they would duet 'Don Bosco'.

This year, I hope that Don Bosco will organize another Easter Egg Hunting activity. The girls will surely be disappointed if they don't have one. But if that will be the case, another back up plan is to join the ones on the malls. I was checking at Fun Ranch's website last night and I was their Easter Egg Hunt promo. Each child has to pay P500 while adult companions pay P250. This means we have to shell out P1250 for the event

Anyways, I hope that we'll be able to join any egg hunt activity. I was hoping to let achi join the 'angels' during the Salubong but they are only accepting children 5 years old up. On the other hand, it will be difficult to join when we have no extra hand to look after the younger kids. Maybe next year or when Stef turns 5 also.

Stefi's turning 3 soon. No party to celebrate, just a simple whole day fun at Fun Ranch. This saves me the time to print to web details like invitations, banners, etc.

triple treat

The TRIPLE TREAT - 2 birthdays and a dedication. The kids had so much fun last Friday. This is the first time that they attended an event that they really enjoyed every part of it. No dull moment for them.

The initial plan was tatay will go alone to attend the event. He needs to be there because he is one of the sponsors of Wilhelm. Being a Friday, his attendance will still depend if his leave is approved. This changed when he was scheduled for work in Transition. He told me to prepare the kids because we will come along.

I had to let them take their afternoon nap for them to enjoy the party. 8 pm is their usual sleeping time so they need to energize. Even Miguel was cooperative for their sleeping schedule.

The girls were happy that they are going out for the night. They weren't expecting anything but when we got to the venue, their attitude changed. When they saw the standees of the celebrators, they were already getting excited. The excitement was even triggered when they got to have their own small chairs and had an activity for them. They were not familiar with the theme 'VeggieTales' but they began to like it.

Everything was great. Achi loved the spaghetti while Siobe enjoyed the sundae. When the story-telling started, they were listening attentively. They were looking forward to puppet show (when I told them that puppets would come out later). When the parlor games began, we let Achi join but she was too small compared to the other kids so she was shy again. But this faded when the lootbags were given away. Miguel on the other hand, was awake all the time. He was his usual makulit and maligalig self.

We went home around 9 pm and they were still awake. They had too much fun that they kept on telling stories about it.

I just wished that we received the invitations earlier. We only brought 1 gift, which was for Wilhelm. We still have to give Kirstein her share when we get to visit them next time. There are no tungsten rings to be given to them but simple gifts that they could use everyday

birthday wish

I was surprised with G's gift on my birthday. He made a very special breakfast. He cooked the meal, prepared the table and set the mode with matching flowers Thank you tatay for making my day different. I love you so much

At this point, all I wanted is a healthy family and financially-stable household. I hope to be debt-free before my next birthday. By then, I can already plan vacations and new purchases. I may not get an Ocean Isle beach nc real estate for now, but I may want one in the near future.

I pray that this year will be more blessed than last year :p I plan to work on it...

tinkering hands

Little Miguel loves to touch anything that sees. At this stage, he loves to play with moving things like the wheels. Yesterday, we were playing near Boxxie and he was fascinated with the wheels again. he touched every part of it, even looking under and above the wheel as if looking for something. At other times, he would play and tinker with the wheels of the scooter and his sisters' bikes. I was wondering if it is time for him to play with the bolts and nuts that I bought last year. These are similar to the Reid Supply tooling components but bigger in sizes, really meant for kids. When I bought these, he just looked at them, then played a little then snobbed it. It was the girls who played with it most of the time. But with his fascination these days, I think he'd enjoy it now.

I just blogged about it the other time, now its on hand. The package arrived in the mail today...

I was wondering who the package might have come from, when the delivery man stopped in front of the house and was looking for G. After signing the papers, I immediately looked at the sender's name. It was from Olay I was very happy with their fast delivery. I was expecting the product to arrive anytime next week.

Now I have 3 different anti-aging cream on hand. I do not know which one to use and when to use. It might give 'different' effect on my face if I use it all at the same time...

In a few days, I'll be celebrating my birthday again. That would make me a member of the 'mid-30's club'. Lately I've been noticing some white hairs appearing which made me more conscious of how I am aging. Because of this, I am asking my dear G for some 'funds' to buy the latest anti-aging items in the market. I have to start with the cream or sunblock or whatever. I know I am a late bloomer but I hope this is not that late yet. This made me search over the net and I found evan healy. An online haven for people who cannot go out to shop. The products are not particularly for anti-aging but they have some items that I may start with.

Looking at my baby blog makes me think again if I should really 'close' it already. It has been my gateway to parenthood for the past 5 years. If only I could maintain and write more often on it, then I would be happy to have it.

For now, I have to temporarily bid it goodbye I still haven't back-up my notes, especially my birthing stories of my kids. I may not able to write it the way it is written.

We have been house help free for almost 3 weeks now. the house is less tidy than usual but that's it. There are more advantages than I thought of. the best part of it is saving more. First, we don't have to pay for a helper. Then less on expenses since we do not have to add one more mouth to our budget. The city services dropped too. It is like adding one silver eagle coin to the piggy bank each day. Aside from these, we get to bond more as a family. The girls are being more responsible now. They help in household chores, they look after their brother. To compensate for their good behavior, we can splurge more when we go out on weekends. They can eat more and spend more time in amusement areas.

I just think of our set-up as a blessing. I love my family more.

I have a list on what I should blog about but I have no time for now. My househelp left and that leads me to doing ALL the chores. I start early in the morning and end up late at night. I do the cooking, the cleaning and even the washing of clothes. I still have to take care of the kids. Its not that I am complaining, I am just stating my new chore... and I think I am already starting to get the hang of it. It is not that difficult as I thought. I still get to take nap in the afternoon

I just hope that I find someone soon. I need to sleep.
